Forwarding from Google Voice

Configure Google Voice to ring your adaptlive number using linked numbers — and disable the screening prompt.

Google Voice

Google Voice can't "forward" in the traditional star-code sense, but you can have it ring an additional number alongside your linked devices.

  1. Open Google Voice settings. You'll need to be signed in to the Google account that owns the GV number.
  2. Open Calls → Linked numbers → Add a new linked number. Enter your adaptlive number — {FORWARDING_NUMBER} — and follow the verification prompt. Google will place a verification call to that number.
  3. Once verified, every call to the GV number will simultaneously ring your other linked numbers and adaptlive. To make adaptlive the only ring destination, unlink the others.
  4. Optional: disable Google Voice's screening prompt so adaptlive doesn't have to navigate the "press 1 to accept the call" interactive voice menu.

Notes

  • Google Voice's screening prompt ("Press 1 to accept this call") will confuse adaptlive. Turn it off under Calls → Call screening.
  • Google Voice can route SMS too, but adaptlive doesn't handle SMS yet — those still land in GV.
