Manage more than one business number, route different numbers to different playbooks, and handle after-hours forwarding.

Multiple Lines

adaptlive supports multiple incoming phone numbers on Growth and Professional plans. Each number can have its own forwarding rule and default playbook.

Adding a Second Number

  1. Go to Settings → Phone Numbers → Add Number.
  2. Enter the business number you want to add.
  3. adaptlive will assign a unique forwarding number for that line.
  4. Update the call forwarding on that business line to the new adaptlive forwarding number.
  5. Assign a default playbook for calls coming in on that number.

Number Routing Rules

Use routing rules to control which playbook activates based on the number dialed, time of day, or caller ID prefix:

  • Number → Playbook — Your service line uses "Service Request" playbook; your sales line uses "New Customer Intake."
  • Time-of-Day — Business hours use your full playbook; after-hours routes to a simple message-taking playbook.
  • Caller ID Prefix — Calls from area code 212 route to your NYC playbook; others use the default.

After-Hours Handling

Set up an after-hours playbook that captures a callback request without requiring a full guided session. Navigate to Playbooks → After-Hours Template and configure the hours in Settings → Business Hours.
