Testing Your Forwarding

How to verify that call forwarding is working correctly before going live.

Test Your Setup

Before you flip adaptlive on for real customers, run a test call to confirm everything is wired up correctly.

Run a Test Call

  1. Open the adaptlive cockpit in a browser tab (go to your dashboard).
  2. From a different phone (not the one the business line rings to), call your business number.
  3. On the device that answers the call, the cockpit should highlight in blue with "Call Active" and begin transcribing.
  4. Say a few words and confirm the transcript appears in the cockpit within 2–3 seconds.
  5. End the call and verify the wrap-up draft is generated.

Troubleshooting

  • Cockpit doesn't open — Make sure you're logged in to adaptlive in the same browser where you're watching. The cockpit triggers on a device linked to your adaptlive account.
  • No transcript appearing — Check that microphone permissions are granted for the adaptlive domain. In Chrome: click the lock icon in the address bar → Microphone → Allow.
  • Caller hears silence — Your forwarding number may not be active. Go to Settings → Call Forwarding → Test Connection to run a diagnostic.
  • Double-ringing — If your device rings twice (once from adaptlive and once direct), disable your direct line during the test or set adaptlive as the sole forwarding destination.
